The National Institute of Justice (NIJ), part of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), is offering this grant to fund research and evaluation projects focused on the intervention and prevention of firearm violence and mass shootings. This grant is for strengthening community safety and protecting the public. Applications are sought in two key areas: research on mass shootings, encompassing insider threats, leakage, and media’s role; and studies on the effectiveness of school-based campaigns encouraging safe firearm storage by parents and guardians of school-aged children. This initiative supports the DOJ’s mission to uphold the rule of law and keep the country safe.
