The National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program (NCGMP) is offering the STATEMAP grant to support critical geologic mapping initiatives across individual States. This grant is for establishing the essential geologic framework of areas determined to be vital for the economic, social, and scientific welfare of each State. The program aims to address both multiple-issue and compelling single-issue needs for geologic-map information. State Geologists, working in consultation with a multi-representational State Mapping Advisory Committee, will determine specific mapping priorities. These priorities are based on State requirements for geologic-map information necessary to solve critical earth-science problems, ensuring targeted and impactful mapping efforts that benefit the States directly.
