This grant, provided by the Bureau of Land Management New Mexico for Fiscal Year 2024, is for the purpose of forging Cooperative Inspection Agreements with interested States and Tribes. Funded through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), this initiative seeks to enhance intergovernmental collaboration on inspections within BLM-managed areas in New Mexico. The goal is to establish formalized partnerships that enable more efficient, coordinated, and effective oversight of land use and resource management activities. By working cooperatively, the Bureau aims to leverage state and tribal expertise, avoid duplication of effort, and ensure comprehensive compliance with environmental and regulatory standards. This grant supports the development of agreements that foster mutual understanding and shared responsibility for the stewardship of public lands, leading to improved outcomes for all stakeholders. The application deadline is May 15, 2024.
