In addition to the draft reports and final submission, the Cooperator will:
• Conduct all field sampling and processing of water samples according to the standard operating procedures outlined in “Monitoring protocols for the National Park Service North Atlantic Coastal Parks: Estuarine Nutrient Enrichment.” Spatial sampling of estuarine water chemistry, water quality, and water clarity will use a probability-based systematic survey design.
• Conduct high resolution seagrass monitoring which will be incorporated in the Vital Signs protocol at the FIIS through the use of permanent-quadrat observations along three 50-m long transects that are stratified by depth. Sampling methods will be consistent with the global seagrass monitoring program SeagrassNet and include percent cover, shoot density, and canopy height.
• Produce a final report incorporating all of the previous year’s spatial and continuous water quality monitoring data and the FIIS seagrass condition monitoring data collected.
