The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is offering this grant to foster the next generation of stewards by partnering with the highly successful Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program (ANSEP). This grant is for the purpose of creating systematic change in the hiring patterns of rural and Indigenous Alaskans within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. ANSEP aims to increase the number of individuals on a career path to leadership in STEM, providing comprehensive support through Pre-College, Summer Bridge, University Retention, and Graduate components. Students in the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program will receive essential financial and practical assistance, ultimately leading to an increased number of practicing professional Indigenous scientists in Alaska.
