| Description: |
The United States Government, represented by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Uganda, seeks to inform interested organizations about an upcoming planned integrated health funding activity, tentatively titled the Uganda Health Activity. This RFI also requests written feedback on the proposed Uganda Health Activity draft program description and key personnel requirements (included as Attachment II).
The proposed Uganda Health Activity aims to increase access to and use of quality healthcare services and improve the performance of the health system at subnational levels in priority districts. Intended high-level results include: 1) improved access to and use of quality maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH); family planning (FP)/reproductive health (RH); nutrition; and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)/infection prevention and control (IPC) health services at facility- and community-levels; 2) enhanced local ownership and leadership for sustainable health outcomes; and 3) strengthened health system resilience at the regional-, district-, and community-levels. The Uganda Health Activity will also strengthen the capacity of local PEPFAR implementing partners (IPs) to lead and sustain the epidemic response as part of sustainability efforts.
This RFI is issued solely for planning purposes and to improve the potential activity design. The RFI does NOT commit USAID to issue a Notice of Funding Opportunity or make an award on the basis of this RFI. All response costs incurred in providing feedback to this RFI are at the respondent’s expense. Please note that responding to this RFI will not give any advantage to or preclude any organization or individual from responding to any Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) that may be subsequently issued. If USAID releases a NOFO, it will be posted on www.grants.gov and/or www.sam.gov. It is the potential applicant’s responsibility to monitor these websites for the release of further information and updates.
Responses to this RFI must be submitted by email to kampalausaidsolicita@usaid.gov no later than the date and time shown above. Do not submit any applications at this time. Information received in response to this RFI shall become the property of USAID. Therefore, information that cannot be shared should not be sent. Please note that respondents will not receive individualized feedback on their submission.
The information provided will be used to help USAID finalize the Uganda Health Activity design. USAID may revise the structure and concept of the activity based on comments received but is not obligated to do so. Thank you for your interest in USAID programs and we look forward to receiving your feedback on how the new activity design can achieve its intended results and advance the Government of Uganda’s (GoUs) national health policy objectives. |
