This NIDDK grant continues support for the Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis Clinical Research Network (NASH CRN). Its purpose is to enable the Data Coordinating Center and Clinical Sites to complete two critical treatment trials, one for adults and one for children. Concurrently, the grant facilitates ongoing longitudinal collection of biospecimens and data from children and adults with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), including steatosis, steatohepatitis, and cirrhosis, via the NAFLD database study. Since 2002, the NASH CRN has focused its research on the etiology, natural history, complications, and therapy of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.
