The National Park Service, through its Gulf Coast Cooperative EcoSystem Studies Unit, is offering this non-competitive grant to complete two vital Cultural Landscape Inventories (CLIs). This grant is specifically for assessing the Johnson City Unit of Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, encompassing both the LBJ Boyhood Home Area and the Johnson Settlement Area. The primary purpose of these CLIs is to fulfill the park’s National Historic Preservation Act Section 110 responsibilities concerning cultural landscape resources and to advance PMDS Goal Ia7, which focuses on Cultural Landscapes Condition. The resulting inventories will significantly inform the NPS by identifying culturally significant features and providing comprehensive data to understand the history, evolution, and existing condition of these important historical sites, supporting their long-term preservation.
