This grant, offered by the Bureau of Reclamation, is for mitigating the adverse effects of the Guernsey Safety of Dams Program Corrective Actions on Guernsey State Park. As mandated by the National Historic Preservation Act, the Bureau of Reclamation and Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites, & Trails are collaborating on this initiative. The purpose is to ensure the preservation of historic resources within the park, which is also a National Historic Landmark. Specific actions include developing new exhibits for the Guernsey Museum, continuing vital interpretive work to highlight the park’s historical significance, and creating a comprehensive, long-term conservation plan for the historic structures and museum exhibits located within Guernsey State Park/National Historic Landmark. This ensures the park’s heritage is protected for future generations.
