The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is offering the Emergency Capital Repair Grant Program to provide crucial financial assistance for urgent capital repairs. This grant is specifically designed for eligible multifamily projects owned by private nonprofit entities that house elderly tenants. The funds address immediate threats to the health, safety, and quality of life of residents, such as critical infrastructure failures. These one-time grants aim to resolve emergency issues that cannot be covered by the project’s existing operating budget or other resources, ensuring the continued safe occupancy of elderly tenants where delays could jeopardize their housing.
