The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General Karachi (PAS Karachi) is pleased to announce an open competition for an assistance award through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). The project called for in this NOFO will promote entrepreneurship for women in Balochistan and will include training, mentoring, podcast production, and a seed-funding competition. The project aims to empower women entrepreneurs in Balochistan to fulfill their economic potential, creating conditions for a more prosperous society. This eighteen-month grant will enable at least 50 women in Balochistan, ages 18-35, many of whom may be limited to working from home, to start and/or scale their businesses. The project called for in this NOFO envisions the following elements: 1) a comprehensive business training program; 2) a mentorship program that will help connect participants with relevant partners; 3) a seed funding competition; 4) incubation support for at least 20 shortlisted participants; and 5) a monthly podcast or similar form of outreach on entrepreneurship and mentoring to reach and share knowledge with women in distant areas and in their homes and build community. PAS Karachi invites all eligible organizations (see Eligibility Information, Section C) to submit proposals for an award to provide training to women entrepreneurs through the program specified in this NOFO. Programs will take place in Quetta as specified by PAS Karachi. The award will be contingent on available funding. |
