The National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) and National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) are offering this R03 grant to expand basic and translational research into focal or specific cognitive deficits experienced by individuals with central nervous system disorders. This grant is for investigating the types, nature, and functional consequences of these deficits, including through intervention research. The Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR) also supports this initiative, promoting research on the behavioral and social aspects of health. The R03 mechanism is designed for small research projects, which can be completed quickly with limited resources. Supported projects include pilot studies, secondary data analysis, self-contained research, and the development of new methodologies or technologies related to cognitive deficits.
