This grant is for the purpose of research to assess the effects of dust emissions on air quality in public lands located in Southern Nevada. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking partners to undertake this vital study. The primary goal is to understand how dust impacts air quality and, by extension, human health, particularly in relation to potential exposure to carcinogenic minerals. This research will contribute to better management of federal lands and safeguard the well-being of individuals using these areas by identifying risks and informing mitigation strategies related to airborne pollutants originating from public lands.
