The NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office (NCBO) is offering this grant to support comprehensive science-based management and restoration efforts in the Chesapeake Bay. This grant is for providing critical technical assistance by identifying effective management options for protecting and restoring living resources and their habitats. It also supports monitoring and assessing the status of these vital resources, and evaluating the effectiveness of management plan implementation. For Fiscal Year 2011, approximately $2,000,000 is anticipated to be available. Funded projects will specifically address ecosystem-based fisheries management, extensive fisheries monitoring, and applied research vital for oyster restoration, furthering the ecological health and sustainability of the Bay.
