The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, through its National Standards and Support Team (NSST), is offering this grant to advance wetland conservation and waterfowl abundance evaluation. This grant is for supporting geospatial data functions, data modeling, and analysis capabilities crucial for the Service’s ecological services. The NSST is the lead federal agency for wetland information, managing digital wetland maps and habitat data. This initiative involves a cooperative partnership with Ducks Unlimited, Inc. (DU), a leading private wetlands conservation organization. DU brings extensive expertise in remote sensing, wetland habitat classification, landscape change studies, and geographic information science. The collaboration aims to mutually benefit both organizations through shared technology and process developments, enhancing nationwide efforts to conserve, restore, and manage vital wetland habitats for North America’s waterfowl.
