This grant is for supporting eligible domestic institutions to develop effective biomedical research education and mentoring programs. Specifically, the NIH Neuroscience Doctoral Readiness Program (DR Program) prepares diverse baccalaureates for rigorous research-focused doctoral degrees (Ph.D./M.D.-Ph.D.) in biomedical fields. Programs must integrate extensive NINDS-aligned research experiences and robust skills development courses. This is a limited competition opportunity, requiring affiliation with a funded NIH T32 program (JSPTPN, PAR-20-076; NINDS T32 PAR-21-149; or NINDS T32 PAR-19-228). A T32 PD/PI must lead this R25. Participants cannot lead independent clinical trials but can gain experience in mentor-led clinical research.
