Description: | The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) intends to issue a cooperative agreement to California Department of Fish & Wildlife under the authority of catalog for domestic assistance (CFDA) 15.512, Central Valley Project Improvement Act, Public Law 102-575, Section 3406(b)(13) and 3407(e). Estimated total amount of agreement is $728,591.00, with Reclamation providing $109,051.00 in Fiscal Year 2013. The purpose of this agreement is to place spawning gravel at various sites in the Stanislaus, American and Sacramento rivers which will restore the salmonid spawning and rearing habitats. The principal objectives of this project are to: (1) Conduct site surveys with Reclamation to determine the amount and locations of spawning-size gravel needed in suitable reaches of the Stanislaus, American, and Sacramento rivers; (2) Place spawning-sized gravel and woody material in the Stanislaus, American, and Sacramento rivers according to project plans; and (3) Conduct pre-and post-placement site surveys to document conditions in the project areas prior to and following project completion to determine effectiveness of projects in improving salmonid spawning and rearing habitat.
