Additional Information
Agency Name: | Pakistan USAID-Islamabad |
Description: | The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Pakistan intends to fund a new five-year Political Party Development Program (PPDP). It is anticipated that, subject to the availability of funds, up to $21 million may be made available to fund this activity over the life of the project. The award recipient will be responsible for enhancing the ability of political parties in Pakistan to contribute to democratic policy-making and governance processes at the national and local levels in a more open, research-driven and representative manner and thereby generate greater public trust and confidence in their ability to govern and effect positive policy change.
USAID intends to make an award for an initial two year period. Towards the end of the second year, an external evaluation will be conducted to assess performance and impact, determine whether the program should be continued and, if so, inform the direction of follow-on activities during the remaining three years. This program will be implemented through a competitively awarded cooperative agreement with a qualified international or Pakistani partner. A consortium approach would be favorably considered. USAID encourages qualified Pakistani organizations with demonstrable technical and financial ability, and having experience in managing these types of programs for international donor agencies to consider submitting their applications for this program. Request for Applications (RFA) can be found at www.grants.gov under Opportunity Number: RFA-391-11-006. |
