NIDA is offering a grant opportunity to accelerate the development of medications for the treatment of Substance-Use Disorders (SUDs). This grant aims to support preclinical and/or clinical research projects that will have a high impact and move medications closer to FDA approval. The U01 grants will be short-term (up to 3 years) and large (up to $5 million per year) cooperative agreements with close NIDA staff involvement. This funding opportunity will enable vital medications development studies that would not be feasible under traditional R01 funding.
