Description: This project proposes to collect genetic data of San Benito evening primrose populations to guide introductions of the species to restored habitat. Pollination mode has a substantial effect on the genetic diversity of a plant population. San Benito evening primrose has been previously reported by researchers to be fully self-pollinating. In addition to genetic analysis, this project also proposes a study of the pollination mode of San Benito evening primrose to verify if it is truly self-pollinating or if some level of outcrossing is possible.
