| Eligible Applicants:: | Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education |
| Additional Information on Eligibility:: | This is a restricted solicitation limited to U.S. non-profit organizations including public and private institutions of higher education, and other quasi-public and private non-profit organizations such as, but not limited to, research institutes, and educational associations. Eligible recipients also include consortia comprised of any combination of universities, other nonprofit organizations, governmental organizations, for-profit organizations, and other entities, to the extent that the consortium is legally incorporated as a nonprofit organization. Minority Institutions and Historically Black Colleges and Universities are encouraged to propose on all or any part of this BAA. NOTE: A nonprofit organization (for example 501 (c) (3)) has to be the awardee/leader of the DMDI institute. In addition, a nonprofit organization has to be the lead member of any proposed incorporated consortium. Respondents may be ineligible for award if all requirements of this BAA are not met as of the specified proposal due date. |

Submissions must demonstrate that the proposed Institute has the potential to significantly advance manufacturing within the United States. This is a restricted solicitation limited to a U.S. non-profit organization to serve as the award recipient to lead a Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation (DMDI) Institute. The Government encourages small businesses to participate in any or all parts of this solicitation through teaming arrangements with the recipient. There will be no other solicitation issued regarding this requirement. Applicants should be alert for any BAA amendments that may adjust submission dates or other submission requirements.NOTE: The term applicant or respondent are synonymous and are used interchangeably within this BAA solicitation.
