Description: | The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) hereby requests applications from all interested organizations to result in the award of a Cooperative Agreement (Agreement) to support snowmobile safety and access training and product development in order to complete the following tasks: Operate a snowmobile safety and access resource information center. Identify, coordinate, and enhance snowmobile safety training opportunities nationwide. Identify snowmobile safety and access products needing development or revision. Develop and revise snowmobile safety and access programs and products in coordination with major national snowmobile user and administrator interests. Convene and coordinate snowmobile partner meetings and communication with Federal and State agencies and nonprofit snowmobile organizations.Snowmobile safety and access training and product development provided under this Agreement will assist Federal, State, and local land management agency staff, snowmobile volunteers, and the public and enhance trail management on Federal, State, local, and private lands through training and public information. Snowmobile safety training and related products will improve the safety and accessibility of snow trails and promote environmental protection and economic sustainability. This will promote enhanced snow trail use envisioned in the legislation authorizing the Recreational Trails Program (RTP), and also promote highway safety.The initial period of performance for this Agreement will be one base period from the effective date of this agreement, with up to three option years. Funds are subject to availability. |
