The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division is soliciting proposals for research into Complex Systems/System-of-Systems (SoS) technologies. This grant aims to mature SoS capabilities through the development of an analytic workbench environment designed for architecting, evolving, and rapid decision-making processes. This tool will enable crucial analyses, including strategies for reducing integration risks for new technologies, informing technology investment decisions, and fostering methods for integrating capabilities across multi-domain mission planning. Proposers should leverage Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and computational Modeling & Simulation (M&S) to provide robust decision analytics. The ultimate goal is to define appropriate technology requirements, behaviors, and architectures for Complex Systems and SoS.

Description: | Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division is interested in receiving proposals for research maturation of Complex Systems/System-of-Systems (SoS) technologies for a System-of-Systems analytic workbench environment designed for architecting, evolving and rapid decision-making. This tool would enable a wide range of analyses including (a) risk reduction strategies to reduce the risk in integrating new technologies, (b) determination of informed technology investments, and (c) methods of integrating capabilities for multi-domain mission planning. Utilizing a combination of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and computational Modeling & Simulation (M&S) would provide the ability of decision analytics to determine the appropriate technology requirements, behaviors and architectures of Complex Systems and SoS. |
