The Department of Defense (DoD) is offering the Neurofibromatosis Investigator-Initiated Focused Research Award. This grant is for supporting basic and clinically oriented research aimed at gaining insights into the development of Neurofibromatosis (NF) and Schwannomatosis. It seeks to significantly improve current approaches to their diagnosis and treatment, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for affected individuals. Key research focus areas include pain, wound repair, nerve regeneration, stress and inflammation, and cognitive dysfunction, all specifically related to NF and/or Schwannomatosis. Applicants must provide relevant preliminary data. Collaborative research between basic and clinical scientists, or academic and industry researchers, is highly encouraged to bring new perspectives and investigators into the field.
