Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
Additional Information on Eligibility: Individuals and for-profit organizations are ineligible to apply for awards under this NOFO.This program NOFO does support entities recruiting interns or crews under the Public Lands Corps Act of 1993. The Public Lands Corps Act of 1993, 16 USC, Chapter 37, Subchapter II-Public Lands Corps, is the only legislative authority that allows BLM to "recruit" interns under this authority. Therefore, eligible Youth Conservation Corps may only apply for projects developed under NOFO 15.243 – BLM Youth Conservation Opportunities on Public Lands.Youth partner organizations are defined in the Public Land Corp Act (§1725. Resource assistants) to mean any program established by a state or local government, by the governing body of any Indian tribe, or by a nonprofit organization that: Are capable of offering meaningful, full-time, productive work for individuals of at least 17 years of age, in a natural or cultural resource setting. Provide participants a mix of work experience, basic life skills, education, training, and support BLM’s mission; and Provide participants opportunities to develop life skills and work ethics through their work on BLM lands that transfer to their community and the United States.
