This Funding Opportunity Announcement will accelerate wide-scale deployment of carbon captureand storage by potentially awarding additional projects to support the CarbonSAFE Initiative,DOE’s flagship effort to move carbon storage technologies into geographically widespreadcommercial practice.CarbonSAFE Phase II prjoects will define and assess a carbon storage complex throughdata collection, geologic analysis, identification of contractual and regulatory requirementsand development of plans to satisfy them, subsurface modeling to support geologic characterization,risk assessment and monitoring, and public engagement.
