The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is dedicated to mitigating cancer health disparities impacting underserved populations across the United States. To achieve this, NCI supports research education, training, and capacity-building initiatives within these communities. The Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD) was established by NCI to bolster cancer research by addressing these disparities. CRCHD guides strategic priorities and scientific policy to strengthen cancer disparities research and training, simultaneously leading NCI’s efforts to enhance scientific workforce diversity. This is accomplished by supporting the training of students and investigators from underrepresented backgrounds, ultimately fostering a more inclusive and effective cancer research landscape.
