This Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant Program supports comprehensive metropolitan and multijurisdictional planning efforts. It integrates housing, land use, economic development, transportation, and infrastructure investments. The grant addresses critical interdependent challenges: economic competitiveness, social equity, energy use, climate change, public health, and environmental impact. A priority is investing in diverse partnerships, including nontraditional collaborations, to translate Livability Principles into strategies for long-term development and reinvestment. Proposals should demonstrate commitment to regional significance, use data for progress monitoring, and engage stakeholders and residents in meaningful decision-making roles, fostering holistic community advancement.
