Description: The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai (PAS Mumbai) seeks proposals for a project entitled “2017 Women’s Safety and Empowerment Film Contest and Festival.” The project will consist of the following: training workshops for film makers from the five western Indian states of Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra; the solicitation of submissions of short-films on women’s safety and empowerment and the evaluation and short-listing of all submissions; the holding of a high-profile public finale film screening and award ceremony for the short-listed films; and the posting and sharing of the winning films online and at other American Spaces throughout India. The finale film screening and award ceremony will be held in early December 2017 to coincide with the UN 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence.
