The North Slope Science Initiative (NSSI), authorized by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, is a collaborative effort by local, state, and federal governments to improve scientific and regulatory understanding of Alaska’s North Slope ecosystems. A core aspect of NSSI’s mission involves robust data management. This grant is for enhancing existing data management capacity to ensure better stewardship of critical data resources. It aims to improve the archival, discovery, and dissemination of scientific data, thereby equipping land management agencies with the essential information required to fulfill their regulatory mandates concerning the North Slope’s unique environment. This initiative is crucial for ongoing efforts to manage and share vital scientific data effectively.
