Description: The purpose of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) Biomedical Engineering, Imaging, and Technology Acceleration (BEITA) program is to enhance bioengineering and imaging research capacity, technology innovation, education and research training, and opportunities for scientific growth at HBCUs in order to utilize the Nation’s full range of talent in meeting the growing need to accelerate the development and translation of high-impact biomedical innovation and technologies. The HBCU BEITA initiative will provide funding to strengthen the research capacity and technology innovation at HBCUs, accelerate technology development and implementation, and prepare students at HBCUs for careers in biomedical engineering, imaging, and technology (BEIT).
