This grant, offered by the Rural Utilities Service (RUS), aims to establish lending programs for private household water well systems. Qualified private non-profit organizations are invited to apply for funding. The purpose of this grant is to enable these approved organizations to create revolving loan programs, providing low-interest loans to eligible individuals who own or will own and occupy homes using private well systems. Applicant organizations must contribute at least 10 percent of the grant amount to capitalize their loan fund and demonstrate expertise in lending. Homeowners will borrow directly from these approved organizations, not from RUS, to construct or upgrade their private household well systems. This initiative focuses on expanding access to financing for essential water infrastructure.
