Management, Invasive Species, Multiple Plant Species, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska – Under this SOW, the Cooperator will provide technical field support to work collaboratively with 773d CES/CEOIE and 673d CES/CEIEC to execute invasive plant species management tasks on JBER. Those species specifically identified as priority species in the JBER INRMP include reed canarygrass, white sweetclover, orange hawkweed, cheatgrass, Canada thistle, Siberian peashrub, European bird cherry, chokecherry, bird vetch, bigleaf lupine, and elodea. Additional priorities in the JBER Noxious or Invasive (Plant) Species Management Plan (NoIS plan) include European mountain ash, butter and eggs/toadflax, brittlestem hempnettle, quackgrass, annual bluegrass, and plantain. Management activities will include inventory and assessment of invasive species, evaluation of the efficacy of previously treated invasive species populations, and treatment of invasive plant species including, but not limited to, mechanical pulling of weeds, operation of equipment necessary to mow or weed-whack weeds, and/or use equipment necessary to apply chemical control, including herbicide, to target weed populations including invasive grasses, herbs, and trees. |
