The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), in partnership with CESU, offers this grant to connect minority and college students to natural resources, science, and archaeology careers. This youth initiative leverages BLM field sites in North Central New Mexico. The grant’s purpose is to engage students in understanding local geologic and cultural resources through field and laboratory modules. Participants will learn geoarchaeological concepts, sample materials, monitor conditions, and link observations to public land archaeological sites. The project aids BLM’s mission to preserve and manage heritage resources, fostering future professionals.
