Additional Information on Eligibility: This funding opportunity is limited to Federally-recognized Tribes, Alaska Native Villages/Corporations (Tribes), and Native Hawaiian Organizations, as defined by 54 USC § 300309, 54 USC 300313 and 54 USC 300314. Excluded parties:Sites or collections owned or leased by the NPS, or in which the NPS holds a property interest are not eligible for funding.

These grants assist Tribes, Alaskan Natives, and Native Hawaiian Organizations in protecting and promoting their unique cultural heritage and traditions. It focuses on what they are most concerned about protecting: Traditional skills, oral history, plant and animal species important in tradition, sacred and historic places, and the establishment of tribal historic preservation offices.
