This grant, offered by a federal health agency, seeks innovative applications for analyzing existing social science, behavioral, administrative, and neuroimaging data. The primary purpose is to advance research on the etiology and epidemiology of alcohol, tobacco, prescription, and other drug use behaviors, along with related disorders, their prevention, and HIV. It also emphasizes improving health service utilization. The initiative encourages maximizing insights from public and existing community-based or clinical datasets. This will deepen understanding of drug use trajectories, consequences, risk, and resilience. Ultimately, the grant aims to guide the development, testing, and delivery of high-quality, effective services for drug abuse and HIV prevention and treatment.
