This grant, offered by the Rural Capacity Building program (part of HUD), is designed to enhance the ability of rural housing development organizations, Community Development Corporations, local governments, and Indian tribes to undertake affordable housing and community development initiatives in rural areas. Its primary purpose is to benefit low- and moderate-income families. The program achieves this by funding National Organizations with expertise in rural housing and development, who then provide direct capacity building to eligible beneficiaries. Funds support strengthening organizational infrastructure, management, and governance capabilities through activities like strategic planning, technological improvements, stakeholder engagement, and performance evaluation, ultimately increasing the capacity to deliver vital services.
