Additional Information

Agency Name: Geological Survey
Description: The USGS Alaska Science Center is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research to conduct a fish survey in the nearshore Beaufort Sea and support a K-12 Oceanography Program as an integral component of the projectâ¿¿s data collection and a conduit for community outreach. Changes in physical habitat attributes in the Arctic (e.g., temperature and salinity) have led to numerous species range shifts and likely modified fish assemblages in nearshore systems over the last several decades. Updated information on fish community and use of nearshore habitats will provide NEPA analysists with information for assessments and improve understanding of current susceptibility and risks of development and production in federal waters.
