The National Park Service is offering this grant to Clemson University, awarded non-competitively through a Cooperative Agreement, for the development of a new web-enabled biodiversity database system. This grant is for creating a robust system that retains the biological data functionality of the previous ATBI database while significantly enhancing its front-end. Key objectives include adapting the existing Access database structure into MS SQL, which will also be the primary technology for front-end development. Furthermore, the new system will integrate with ArcGIS for comprehensive GIS capabilities and be web-enabled to allow off-site users to efficiently enter and edit data. This initiative aims to modernize data management for biodiversity.
