Description: Substantial Cooperation and Involvement by NPS

Denali National Park and Preserve will substantially cooperate with UAF Museum of the North in production of this exhibition. The Denali National Park and Preserve museum collection includes objects, such as a set of crampons used by the Hudson Stuck Party, which are integral to exhibiting the history of mountaineering on Mt. McKinley. Identification of objects for inclusion in this exhibition will require significant scholarly research by Denali National Park and Preserve staff. Furthermore, Denali National Park and Preserve will identify and negotiate the loan of particular objects, such as Harry Karstens ice axe, owned by other institutions and individuals for inclusion in this exhibition.

Staff of DENA will work cooperatively with UAMN to determine themes, extent, and content of UAMN exhibit and the traveling exhibits. DENA and NPS will provide material to which they have access for exhibit, as well assist in borrowing additional material held in other places or by other people they learn about which may be desired for display. Extent of exhibits and contents and message will be determined collaboratively dependent upon items which may be or become available for exhibit, and objectives of NPS for education about Mt McKinley, and professional abilities and experience of UAMN personnel.
