Additional Information

Agency Name: National Institutes of Health
Description: The purpose of this FOA is to support development of a web portal and associated bioinformatics required to facilitate information sharing between NIDDK-supported resources and the scientific community, with the ultimate goal of synergizing scientific advances in NIDDK interest areas. A pilot project, the NIDDK Consortium Interconnectivity Network (dkCOIN), established the feasibility of creating a limited network and web solution for information sharing between a subset of NIDDK basic science consortia (www.dkcoin.org). Based on the success of this pilot, NIDDK is soliciting applications for a Coordinating Unit that will provide the leadership and vision needed to create a user-friendly infrastructure linking multiple NIDDK resources and data. The Coordinating Unit will be responsible for developing a platform that will seamlessly connect the NIDDK investigator community to integrated information, resources and data held by NIDDK supported programs and projects, with the goal of providing a uniquely valuable and powerful resource for NIDDK investigators.
