Description: The Department of State’s Office of the Nonproliferation and Disarmament Fund (ISN/NDF) is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance awards through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). ISN/NDF invites non-profit/non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, and for-profit organizations based in the United States to submit proposals for a comprehensive assessment focused on the proliferation and security risks associated with advanced AI, particularly during research and development (R&D) stages. Proposals should also address the challenges and risks of both intentional and accidental negative outcomes – including misalignment – resulting from advanced AI R&D. Proposals may not exceed the total availability of funds under this NOFO. ISN/NDF prefers proposals that fully address the scope of work, which is further described in section II of the solicitation. Please review the formal solicitation document for further application requirements.
