This Agriculture and Food Research Initiative grant is for multidisciplinary projects addressing water availability and quality challenges within food production systems. The program’s long-term goal is to sustainably increase agricultural productivity and the availability of safe, nutritious food while significantly reducing water use and preserving vital water quality. Expected projects will transform food production, processing, distribution, and consumption practices by integrating new technologies and strategic management, all within the limits of available water from various sources. This funding supports integrated Research, Education, and/or Extension projects, specifically offered as Coordinated Agricultural Projects (CAP) and Strengthening CAP grants, to foster innovative solutions for a sustainable and water-efficient food future.
