Dr. Robert Suryan, an Associate Research Professor at Oregon State University, has been conducting cooperative research on short-tailed albatrosses with U.S. and Japanese colleagues for 10 years. He is the current Short-tailed Albatross Recovery Team leader. He has a diverse background in seabird ecology studies spanning over 17 years, and has experience working on camera imaging projects. Dr. Suryan was involved in the pilot study for this satellite imagery project and has familiarity with the technology to be used. |
