This Administration on Aging (AoA) grant is a three-year cooperative agreement designed to accelerate the adoption of consumer/participant direction models throughout the Aging Network, making consumer direction accessible to all. The primary purpose is to develop a skilled workforce capable of supporting and implementing consumer-directed long-term services and supports (LTSS). This initiative will foster increased access to consumer direction for individuals across aging and disability communities. Activities include developing staff competency assessment systems, creating and implementing core curriculum for various job classifications, and establishing a technical assistance center for the VD-HCBS program. The funded entity will collaborate with federal agencies and educational institutions to embed training, ensuring the current and future workforce is prepared to deliver consumer-directed services, thereby improving knowledge, performance, and program access.
