Additional Information

Agency Name: National Park Service
Description: The mission of the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum (ASDM) is to inspire people to live in harmony with the natural world by fostering love, appreciation, and understanding of the Sonoran Desert. The ASDM is positioned to help the Southern Arizona Resilient Landscapes Collaborative (SARLC) achieve their goals of enhancing landscape resiliency through the management of buffelgrass, a highly invasive plant species that is threatening the fragile resources of the Sonoran Desert.

ASDM will provide public outreach and education, engage landowners in the fight against buffelgrass, and assist Saguaro NP in developing press releases and reports. ASDM will provide project coordination for specified SARLC partnersâ¿¿ accomplishments, and work with Saguaro NP to meet DOI Resilient Landscape reporting requirements. ASDM may coordinate future mapping and monitoring of buffelgrass populations with SARLC partners. This agreement will cover all current and future partners that meet SARLC membership requirements. Current SARLC partners include: Saguaro NP (SNP), US Forest Service (USFS), US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Tohono Oâ¿¿odham Nation, Pima County, US Geological Survey, Northern Arizona University, the University of Arizona (Tumamoc Hill), and the Arizona Native Plant Society.
