The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is offering this Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) grant to empower states and local governments in combating substance abuse. This grant is specifically for the purpose of developing and implementing effective substance abuse treatment programs within various correctional and detention facilities, including state, local, and tribal institutions. A critical component of this initiative is also to facilitate the creation and ongoing maintenance of community-based aftercare services, which are crucial for offenders post-release. By funding these comprehensive treatment and aftercare solutions, the BJA aims to reduce recidivism and improve rehabilitation outcomes for incarcerated individuals with substance use disorders.
