This grant, offered by BJS, is for obtaining a data collection agent to conduct the 2010 National Survey of Prosecutors (NSP-10). The NSP-10 will focus on the administration of prosecution activities and emerging case types from a nationally representative sample of approximately 475 state court felony prosecutor offices. The survey aims to gather essential information on staffing, salaries, and budgets. It will also explore contemporary prosecution techniques and critical issues, including community prosecution, computer and internet-related crimes, sex offenders, and the utilization of forensic and DNA evidence, alongside plea bargaining practices. This initiative seeks to enhance understanding of current prosecutorial landscapes.
