Additional Information

Agency Name: Bureau of Land Management
Description: a. Background:

The BLM conducts vegetation treatments in and around public lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management Arizona. The vegetation treatments will result in a reduction of hazardous fuels that will protect communities, firefighter and public safety, and improve wildlife habitat or other sensitive resource values. Veterans have benefited from training and development during military service, possess a wide variety of skills and experience, as well as a motivation for public service that will help fulfill Federal staffing needs. It is the policy of this administration to enhance recruitment of and promote employment opportunities for veterans (Executive Order 13518 of November 9, 2009 Employment of Veterans in the Federal Government), and this agreement will provide an opportunity to meet that requirement.

b. Objectives:

The objective of this agreement is to provide first time and hands on experience for veterans implementing vegetation treatments that will protect communities, provide for firefighter and public safety, and improve wildlife habitat or other sensitive resource values.
