| Description:: | The recipient will implement a coordinated approach to weed management in east-central Nevada that crosses administrative boundaries and increases public awareness and participation, relative to isolated BLM efforts. Work priorities on BLM managed lands will be based on principles expressed in the BLM Partners Against Weeds Project (PAWS). One principle of the PAWS Project is that a contain then control approach is the most effective strategy for controlling weeds. Without a vehicle for coordination of efforts, this is not possible. The recipient will provide the services on public lands within the Battle Mountain District and limited private land where it is identified that a combined treatment would be beneficial for both public and private landowners/managers. |
